What kind of earth will our children and grandchildren inherit? The answer depends partly on people like us. We all have a carbon footprint: the amount of greenhouse gases our daily activities cause. It’s these greenhouse gases that are speeding up global warming.

What is my carbon footprint?
A Carbon Footprint is made up of the sum of two parts, the direct / primary footprint and the indirect / secondary footprint.

1. The primary footprint is a measure of our direct emissions of CO2 from the burning of fossil fuels including domestic energy consumption and transportation (e.g. car and plane).

2. The secondary footprint is a measure of the indirect CO2 emissions from the whole lifecycle of products we use - those associated with their manufacture and eventual breakdown.

How Do Leomarc Lighting Technology Products Reduce My Carbon Footprint?
Lighting Technology products help you reduce both your primary and secondary carbon footprint through efficient and long lasting products.

1. Efficiency
LED's are twice as efficient as a traditional bulb meaning they require less electricity to generate the same amount of light. If you are using less electricity, you are requiring less fossil fuels and greenhouse gasses to be produced at the power station, therefore reducing your primary carbon footprint due to the reduction in emissions - Not to mention reducing your electricity bill!

2. Longer Life
Lighting Technology products provide light for around 50,000 hours continuously (five years). If our products last longer that traditional lamps then that means you have to buy less of them, meaning we have to manufacture less, which in turn is reducing the energy required, thus emmissions we generate in producing our products. This is reducing your secondary carbon footprint.
